Service Coordinator

Target Start Date: January 1st, 2027 Location: Craiova, Romania Company Introduction BEM Marine Power S.R.L. is the Romanian subsidiary of BEM Marine Power GmbH, a specialized company within the BEM Group focusing on the development, engineering, and supply of industrial alternators and components of electrical propulsion systems for hybrid and fully electric vessels. As part of its international growth strategy, BEM Marine Power S.R.L. is establishing a new production facility in Craiova for large generators, large marine electric motors, and marine propulsion system components. The new site will play a key role in designing and manufacturing electrical drive solutions for demanding marine applications worldwide. Position Objective: • Establish and lead an efficient service function in Craiova characterized by quick customer response, high-quality service delivery, and structured execution of all service activities. • Act as the primary coordination point between customers, the Craiova operation, internal BEM teams, and external service engineers and partners, ensuring smooth execution and transparent follow-up of service tasks. • Support the ramp-up of the new Craiova site by ensuring that service processes, spare-parts handling, documentation, interfaces, and partner structures are ready for operational use. Key Responsibilities: 1. Customer Support & Service Coordination: • Serve as the first point of contact for customers regarding after-sales service requests, quality issues, and escalations. • Build and maintain long-term customer and service-partner relationships, ensuring high satisfaction levels. • Plan, align, and monitor service activities in collaboration with internal and external service engineers. • Process and document service and spare-part orders efficiently, including coordination of spare-parts availability and logistics. • Prepare service analyses and statistics, including project hours, response times, open actions, recurring issues, and service performance. 2. Factory Setup & Equipment Transfer Coordination: • Coordinate relocation and new installation activities for the Craiova factory, with particular focus on cranes, the test bed, the paint booth, and other production-related equipment. Coordinate the transfer of equipment and machinery from the BEM plant in Wuxi, China, to Romania, including alignment of dismantling, shipment, site readiness, installation, commissioning, and handover activities. • Work closely with the BEM Romania Senior Engineer responsible for the technical planning, the BEM Plant Manager Wuxi, internal engineering and production teams, suppliers, consultants, and external installation and assembly companies. Technical & Operational Coordination: • Coordinate technical clarifications and service actions for alternators, electric motors, and related electrical propulsion equipment together with Engineering, Production, Quality, and external partners. • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, acceptance activities, and customer visits when service-related coordination is required; track open actions, delays, and technical issues and escalate when needed. Reporting and Collaboration: • Initially disciplinary reporting to the Managing Directors of BEM Marine Power S.R.L.; functionally reporting to the Service Coordinator in Germany until the new organizational structure in Romania is established. • Works closely with the Craiova management and technical teams as well as colleagues in Germany and Wuxi, China, across after-sales, logistics, purchasing, engineering, quality, and production. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Degree in electrical engineering, electromechanics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field. • Strong technical knowledge of electrical machines such as alternators and electric motors; practical service or commissioning experience is highly desirable. • High-voltage safety training / authorization or comparable qualification. • Several years of experience in service, commissioning, industrial engineering, technical coordination, or a comparable environment • Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external interfaces. • Romanian: fluent/native. English: good working proficiency • Good command of ERP/service-management systems and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Willingness to travel as required, including visits to customers, suppliers, service partners, and other BEM locations.
